Team Edward

GoOd mOrNIng!

I literally have nothing but caffeine running through my veins. I know I will crash soon...but it'll have to wait until 5pm! This use to be so easy in college!

I know you are dying to know. If you haven't seen Eclipse yet, don't worry, I don't kiss and tell. Does that phrase apply here? Oh I dunno, who cares! Ha.

My friends and I got to the theatre 3 hours before. You think we are crazy? Absolutely not...there were people waiting in line since 6pm. We got a killer spot in line! (Killer is my word today I guess? It's the caffeine talking.) Our local news station was also there. The real cast of Eclipse was at my local theatre! Just kidding. There was a Twilight Saga party going on in another theatre and they had people dressed up as the characters. From far away I literally thought they were the real cast! Silly me.

ECLIPSE WAS AMAZING!

My favorite movie yet!!!! The fight scene was killer....get it? No really...it was sweeeet. Kristin Stewart (Bella) has gotten better at playing Bella, but the way her and Edward kiss isn't as powerful and passionate as described in the book. Annoying. Eclipse followed the book the closest out of the previous two movies.

I am stoked for Breaking Dawn. This was my favorite book! Which one is your favorite?

In order by favorite: Breaking Dawn, Eclipse, Twilight, New Moon.

*For you Anti-Twilighters...You seriously need to read the books. All the hype is real and you will realize the craziness of the Twilight Saga once you read them. Stephenie Meyer is a great author.

It's going to be a longgggg Wednesday!

ps- Congrats to my boyfriend...He officially becomes a house owner today!

Eclipse Tuesday

*Tonight, at midnight...
I have a super hot date with this man:

(picture taken last November)

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is finally here!!! (well it's technically at midnight)

And yes I love sparkly vampires and yes I am Team Edward.

I will be having one of these because my normal bedtime is 10:30/11:

I am going to be so tired tomorrow but I know it'll be worth it!

*The lovely Anna of In Honor Of Design is having an awesome giveaway! Check it out!

*I found out last night that I get a little summer break from my online classes! This is so nice and unexpected! :D

Have a wonderful Tuesday friends!

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

Miscellany Monday!!! Click on the button to join!

1- This is my 40th post and I have 70+ followers! How amazing! Love you all!!!

2- Watched an amazing movie this weekend...Book of Eli. Denzel Washington is such a great actor! If you haven't seen it...You must.
I also watched Alice in Wonderland. I love Johnny Depp and I love Tim Burton. The movie didn't impress me though. Disappointing.

3- So many things to look forward to this week! Tuesday night at Midnight I am going to see ECLIPSE! And this weekend is a holiday and 4 day weekend!? Couldn't be more excited!

4- I rode Trek Saturday & Sunday morning! I am drained. Hoping to refuel myself today.

5- Sometimes I think pets know when your sad or need company. I had my kitty and my parents sweet (big) pup in my room with me all weekend. The pup rarely will come into my room. It was the sweetest feeling.

6- I am currently reading Max Lucado's Fearless. (I love Max Lucado btw). I have come to realize my one fear might be causing most of the problems in my life right now. This one fear leads to other problems which lead to deeper problems. Does that make sense? It's a good book so far!

Have a great Miscellany Monday!!!

I have a lot to do today. School is killing me right now, but I will try my best to comment back! Just bare with me!

TGIF!

(via weheartit)

Hooray! It's Friday!

(Florida Turnpike)

Thanks to all my blog friends who supported and prayed yesterday. I am so glad I went with my gut and drove up there. It was an amazing service because Nikki was an amazing woman. It was so great to see my sisters, especially my "big". The drive was great! Beautiful scenery and I did nothing but jam out to Christian music and worship my Heavenly Father. I am sure I got some funny looks! Haha. It was hard to turn in my rental car this morning because it was so luxurious! I big change from mine and it left me longing for a new car. (sigh) I also went through as many drive-thrus as possible because my car doesn't have a working window.

My boyfriend is so sweet. He said he had a surprise for me. What was it? He recorded Jimmy Kimmel Live because it was a special show with the cast of Eclipse! Love him.

4 days til Eclipse! 1 month (as of tomorrow) until my cruise!!!!

I hope to catch up on all of your blogs today! So....don't blog until I do...deal? :P

Have a great Friday!

Jax

(via weheartit)

Friends! Thank you for all the kind words and prayers. I am "out of the office" today. I decided to rent a car (my first time btw) and drive to see my beloved sisters and pay my respects to a beautiful sister. I ask that you would please continue to keep the sisters, family, and friends of this beautiful angel in your prayers.

I love and appreciate all of you!!

Cupcake Dreamin'

I am posting rather late today... I have good reason.

1. I have been daydreaming of cupcakes, more than usual... I long to open up a cupcakery.
2. Working on hw, reading about entrepreneurship, which led to No. 1.
3. Trying to figure out if I will be able to make it to my KD sister's funeral service tomorrow. I don't have a reliable car right now and the service is 2 1/2-3 hrs away. My heart is crushed.

I HAVE caught up on my journal pages! Enjoy!

(Day 6-What time is it for you?)

(Day 7-How do you feel today?)

(Day 8-Draw an inside joke)

Have a FABULOUS day!

Tuesday, June 22, 2010

Hey Tuesday!

Hi Friends!!! I am skipping out on Top 2 Tuesday today because I am not much of a fan of Reality TV and the shows I DO watch...I would NOT want to be on. Ha...BUT if you are...then head on over to The Undomestic Momma and link up!

*Congrats again to my sister! (she says thank you to all those who congratulated her on my blog) All she has left is to pass the NCLEX...which I know she will totally dominate that exam.

"A nurse, the touch of an angel's hand" (saw this last night at the ceremony, didn't catch who said it)

*Yesterday morning the Eta Zeta chapter of Kappa Delta lost a beautiful sister. She is in the arms of our heavenly Father now. Forever sisters. AOT.

Please keep all my sisters, and the family & friends in your prayers.

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." Matthew 5:4

*A week from today I will be seeing Eclipse at midnight!!! Who cares if I'll only get 4 hours of sleep.

*I still have some journaling catching up to do! Ill share when I get the days finished!

Have a great day!!!

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

I love Miscellany Mondays!

ONE-Happy Summer!! Today is officially the first day of Summer. Here in Florida it has felt like Summer for the past few weeks!

(via weheartit)
I love this picture...It's what you want to do after being outside for what....10minutes? Yeah...it's that bad.

TWO-CONQUERER! I did it! I conquered my little fear of the bike shoes! It was amazing. I am even more addicted to cycling after a ride with them. It completely changes the bike ride. I felt more in control and I wasn't constantly shifting my feet. It was great! Didn't fall once. Hooray! Thanks for all those motivational comments! And HEATHER...I thought of your comment from your hubby on my bike ride: "to clip out you have to act like your kicking a dog running up next to you or something weird." Haha. It worked!

THREE-STEAKS. Father's day was full of great food and great people. My boyfriend cooked steaks for our entire family! He seriously can cook a mean steak! Delicious! He can grill and is very handsome...and he loves Jesus. I am a lucky gal! Love you bf! Xoxo.

FOUR-GRADUATION. My sister graduates (gets pinned) tonight from Nursing School! Congrats to her!

FIVE-MANGO MOJITO. I had the best dang mango mojito at Chili's Friday night. I have been craving one ever since my trip to Atlantic City, where I had THE best $10 mango mojito! Oh it was worth the money, trust me. But Chili's does a mighty fine job on theirs AND it's 2 for 1 for only $6.99! Can't beat that!

SIX-JOURNAL. Here are journal pages from Day 4 and Day 5. I have much catching up to do for days 6, 7, and today because I left my journal at work. I will share them as soon as I finish!

(Day 4: "What fills your heart?" Day 5: "Blogs you love")

Have a great Monday!!

Reunited

I am stoked, for a couple reasons today:

The most obvious one...it's FRIDAY!

*HARRY POTTER HAS COME TO UNIVERSAL ORLANDO!!!

I LOVE HARRY POTTER! I WANT TO GO ASAP!
Hmmm...Maybe for my birthday next month?

*And I finally got TREK back!! I encountered some complete dorkness last night... I seriously had a huge grin on my face when the bike guy brought my bike out. It was like seeing your pet after being gone for like a week! I felt just like that...with my BIKE! Haha. Whatever... REUNITED AND IT FEELS SO GOOD.

Also, VERY proud of myself for having put together my shoes and putting on my cleats. So I then decided to give them a try on my bike...

(my pretty shoes)

(For those who aren't familiar with road bikes: The cleat is on the bottom of my shoes. I have to clip onto the pedal where the circle on the cleat is)

Well at first I couldn't figure out how to connect the cleat to the pedal (because I wasn't doing it right). So after sweat and tears I came inside to try to find a YouTube video to guide me. After 15minutes finally went outside for attempt #2. Woo Hoo finally got one foot clipped in...and....ohhh....CRASH. Idk how it even happened. I was at a stand still and next thing I knew I was on the floor. It wasn't an instinct to unclip my foot from the pedal. I hit the ground HARD. My body hurts today. My poor hands are torn up at the knuckle. TREK is perfectly fine, of course. I got up after that though and pinned myself between the garage and my mom's car (for balance) so I could practice clipping in and out. But...now I am too freaked out to go on a bike ride with them. AH!

(picture of my battle wounds taken last night...today they are red and swollen!)

I am only working a half day today, but it's not for an exciting reason. I am going back to the doctor's office to get a test done. Please pray that everything goes well and the test results come back negative. Thanks in advance!

HAVE A GREAT FRIDAY & WEEKEND!

Foodie

Today I feel like CRAP, but im trying to stay positive...

I have been watching way too much Man v Food lately so let's talk about food! I love food! I am a foodie. I want to travel to all the places he has been and...EAT!

Currently obsessed with:

I have been there numerous times the past couple of weeks. I blame my cousin and grandparents for introducing me to this deliciousness.

Lakeridge Winery & Vineyards owns me. The winery is south of Orlando. I really want to take a day trip out there some time to see where my love, Southern Red, was born. I blame my JK+Boyfriend for introducing us. It was love at first....taste.

Almost every night, always around the same time, I endulge myself to this chocolate fudge brownie goodness. It's more of a comfort food. I can never get enough. YUM!

____
Day 3 of the Journal Challenge: Draw a picture of someone you love and write to them.

Not fond of how it turned out, but oh well.

Hope YOU have a great Thursday!

Blah

Today I feel...."Blah"

This is where I want to be...

Anyways...

Journal Challenge Day 2: "What is the best part of your day?"

*Christian music on my way to work *Coffee *"Good Morning" text from the boyfriend*

For some reason, while I was drawing this...I thought the prompt was what brightens my day. Oops. Either way this is the best part of my day AND it brightens my day.

Off to work on today's prompt! Have a great Wednesday!!

Top 2 Tuesday

Top 2 Guilty Pleasures

ONE.

Starbucks. If I have extra money to spend or if it's a Friday and I need to treat myself...I will induldge myself in a Caramel Frappucino- no whip. OR if I REALLY am needing some caffeine. During the week I drink regular coffee at work (it is also healthier that way). It's nice to treat yourself every now and again.

TWO.

Jessica Simpson Heels. Or....heels/shoes in general. My recent purchase...Cycling shoes! (something I never would have thought I would buy.) I look for heels/shoes before actual clothes! I don't buy them as much as I use to because I don't go out as much as I use to! But, I have a serious weakness for all things Jessica Simpson.

JOURNAL CHALLENGE DAY 1:

Here is my page from Day 1. I still have yet to do my cover. I kind of like it blank though.

The prompt for Day 1 was to kind of introduce yourself. This is a "collage" of little tidbits about me! I love how it turned out and I loved doing it even more.

It's not too late to join the Journal Challenge! Doooo it!

Have a great Tuesday!!!
(It's exactly 1 month til my 25th birthday...AH!)

Miscellany Monday

What...It's Monday already?! Booooo.

Hello to all my new followers!!!

I was not ready for Monday. It has already been crazy. I already have a headache.

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

ONE-

Somehow I found myself at Bass Pro Shop again this weekend. What has my boyfriend done to me!? I am starting to really fall in love with Country. (I use to HATE it!) Have I gone Country?? I'll be honest, I kind of like it... but don't expect me to be decked in Camo...EVER. Ain't happening!

TWO-

I got my hair did!! And I got to spend the evening with my best friend of 15+ years and my godson! I love them sooooo much! I needed her dearly. My adorable godson is 2. I forgot what two year olds are like...always asking questions, random temper tantrums. He it too cute to get mad at! He even corrected me! Haha...He asked me what I was holding and I said "A straightener" and he said "no thats a flat iron." Haha! Oh and then he went around to everyone saying "smell my poo". Bahaha. I will never ever forget that! I can't wait for their baby #2!

THREE-

Janel's 30 Day Journal Challenge began today!! Head on over to her blog to join the challenge! I will be sharing my journal pages with you! Yay!

FOUR-

Saturday night the boyfriend and I went downtown to Ichibian (Sushi) and then to The Dessert Lady. I think I said this last week but I am falling more in love with Downtown Orlando. It's so lovely. I had THE BEST Carrot Cake EVER at the Dessert Lady! Yum!

FIVE-
I am so ready for it to be FIVE o'clock! And I am ready to have Trek back!

Have a great Monday friends!!!

Friday!

Who is happy it's FRIDAY?!
I know I am!

*If you have decided to do Janel's 30 day Journal Challenge...be sure to head over to her blog and grab the button! If you look on the left hand side of my page you can see it. Looks fabulous! Also, make sure you connect to the journal's Flickr page!

*Interested in helping with the massive oil spill? I am disgusted with the way the government and BP has handled all of this...

You can help by purchasing a BP "Beyond Pollution" T-Shirt & support BLACKND, as well as The Institute For Marine Mammal Studies, which is an organization that is currently rescuing and rehabilitating marine animals affected by the oil spill.

(click on the pic-directs you to the purchase page)

$5 of every shirt purchase goes to IMMS.

If you purchase a shirt be sure to take a picture of you wearing it and send it to my email address: pinkstarr403@yahoo.com so that you can be featured on my blog!

Came across this video (thanks Casie!) & wanted to share it with you all... It'll make you laugh, even when it's wrong too, but it summarizes the BP idiots rather well I think!

"This is what happens when BP spills....COFFEE"

TREK (my road bike) is in with the Bike Dr for the weekend...so...No long bike ride Saturday. I am upset but it's impossible to ride if the chain isn't working right!

I have a hair date with my best friend tonight!!! I am so excited to see her and her cute preggo tummy! Yay!

I don't have any big plans this weekend...I might do a random escape on Saturday...just depends on how things go. We shall see!

Have a great weekend, friends!

Operation Beautiful

I have mentioned before a favorite blogger of mine...Caitlin from Healthy Tipping Point. I came across her Operation Beautiful blog today. She also has a book, Operation Beautiful, coming out in August. AND she currently resides in my hometown of Orlando!

I came across this video via her blog and wanted all of my readers to watch it. It is powerful.

REMEMBER...YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. STOP CARING ABOUT WHAT OTHERS THINK...WHAT THE MEDIA PORTRAYS. You were made in God's image.

Your beauty was perfected because of My splendor which I bestowed on you. Ezekiel 16:14

The only lasting beauty is the beauty of the heart - Rumi
Hi Friends! I don't have much to post today. I finally was able to sleep but for some reason my alarm clock scared the crap out of me this morning! Like...I sat straight up in bed when it went off, heart racing! Bad start to the day. (Thank goodness it's almost Friday!)

I went on a bike ride yesterday night...and well...it was awful! I was so uncomfortable (I think it had to do with my back) and my chain is messed up. I am so upset because I had planned a long bike ride for Saturday, but that isn't looking possible. Grrr.

*For those who are looking into cycling...be prepared so spend money. It isn't cheap. I tend to jump into things too fast when I am set on getting something...and don't bother researching it. I have spent about half of what I paid for the bike already! And now I have to spend more $ to get it fixed (which I am hoping won't be too much).

Yesterday I bought padded spandex shorts (sexy right? LOL) and a pair of gloves from Sports Authority:

My coworker and fellow cyclist told me about his favorite bike gear website...Performance Bike. I love it. I bought a small bike pump and SHOES finally!!! I got them both on sale!

*note-I bought these thinking I was going on a long bike ride Saturday. Grrr.

*One of my favorite bloggers, Janel of Run With Scissors, is having a 30 day journal challenge!!! I love this because it isn't necessarily an art journal thing (I attempted art journaling but it's not really my thing...) You can simply use pen or marker for each day's prompt! I love that because I love to doodle! You should go check it out and join in!
Starts Monday, June 14!*

Have a great Thursday!

Sleepy Deepy

{HELLO TO ALL MY NEW FOLLOWERS!}

I am dragging big time today! I've been so drained lately. My back has been aching a lot so I haven't been able to sleep which makes it hard to wake up and get my butt moving and off to work. It's an endless cycle. I need a massage.

Yesterday my "little" brother graduated!

I loved ceremony. There were some great speeches given by the students. I was rather impressed! The high school has definitely changed since I was there...A LOT of new teachers too. I was actually impressed with myself for remembering the Alma Mater song (I only knew it because I we had to in Chorus)...after 7 years! Wow.

Had a lovely evening with good food and great people! I love my momma's enchiladas and my guacamole! We then had peach cobbler! YUM.

The weather man is only saying there is a 10% chance of rain today so I am hoping to get out on my bike tonight! We will see....you know those weathermen...

**Also...Check out my blog friend Rachel's new Etsy shop!**

Have a great Wednesday!!!!

Top 2 Favorite Books

I use to hate leisure reading.

Until I read this book.

This book moved me in a way I never thought possible. I even cried! This is such a great book. Every girl should read it. Francine Rivers is a great author. Atonement Child is also a great book by FR.

(Redeeming Love is in the process of becoming a movie!)

TWILIGHT SAGA!

Now THESE books got me LOVING to read. I have re-read all of them...3 times now. The first time I layed my hands on these books I was changed. I would spend hours locked away in my room. Oh Edward....
But seriously, Stephenie Meyer is a great writer. The way she describes every little detail. My imagination was opened to new things that I had never experienced before from a book! I was amazed!

I can't wait to see Eclipse!!! JUNE 30th!!

Speaking of...I need to read Eclipse again.

Graduation!

HAPPY GRADUATION DAY TO MY "LITTLE" BROTHER, DANIEL!

I am so proud of him! He has turned into such a handsome & wonderful young man.

Good Luck at UCF! I know God has so many great things in store for you!

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

Warning: This is a long one!

(1) I watched the Pinocco Race (NASCAR) and it was intense! I laugh at myself for actually enjoying this sport! :)

(2) So for some reason this weekend I watched a few movies that made me cry...I really don't like movies like that but I guess it's good to have a "good cry" every now and then??? I saw Seven Pounds, My Sister's Keeper (I cried reading this book!), and Dear John.

(3) I am realllly needing my hair done, my roots are embarrassingly showing. Being part blonde is so high maintenance.

(4) I finally got a bike ride in Saturday morning! It was good. When I say good I mean...I was drenched in sweat and felt the burn a couple of hours after my ride. (note to self...need more protein!)

(5) Saturday was the best day of this past weekend! Great bike ride....AND the surprises I had for my boyfriend went perfect! (well almost...just a little speed bump that delayed the timing of everything but it worked out!) Want to hear about the surprises?? OKAY!

I wrote 3 letters that revealed the surprise inside:

First, "Time to RELAX"...I paid for him to have an hour massage because my massages can only go so far. He has also been very stressed and I just wanted him to relax. He won't go by himself so by doing this it FORCES him to! He thought I'd be going with him...but I told him it was HIS day! He called me a brat a few million times that night...I loved seeing him smile like that. If you have a Massage Envy near you, you must go there and get one!

*during this time I managed to go to the grocery store to pick up things to make for dinner and cleaning supplies and cleaned his apartment!

Second, "Time to EAT" ...after his massage I had him take the second surprise so he could open it in his car to reveal where he would go next...He would come back to his apartment to a candle lit dinner! (awwwww) Dinner was sooo good! I got a Bertolli Shrimp Linguine pack and made asparagus. I got him some beer and I had myself a glass of wine.

*I used Today's Letters Asparagus recipe...OH MY GOODNESS. You must make this. Delicious!*

While eating dinner I gave him his last surprise..."Time to CHILL" ...An outing to his favorite cigar bar in Downtown Orlando...Corona's. I paid for the cigar of his choice. (You must know that I am not a fan of cigar smoke so this was a big deal for us to go together)
It was nice though. I really enjoyed myself and I know he loved it too.

Before heading home we stopped at Mochi frozen yogurt! YUM!
(excuse the messy hair...the humidity ruined it)

I am so glad everything went perfect. I had never done this for anyone so I was so nervous! I love that man of mine.

How was your weekend!?

Winner!

WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!
I chose to use the random generator....

...AND THE WINNER IS...
Her favorite Clinique items are the lash doubling mascara and the plumping lip gloss.
CONGRATS Amanda! Please leave me your email address...
And thanks to all those who participated!

The boyfriend has been a wreck lately so I have planned a surprise evening for him on Saturday night. He gets 3 surprises. It's killing him...and I can't help but giggle (okay maybe im laughing really hard inside) because I know what it's like not knowing what the plans are!

MUAHAHAHA.

I will def share about it on Monday! I will also be revealing the giveaway winner on Monday too! So if you haven't entered, gooo do it!!!
Besides that I hope to relax and hope the weather stops being psycho so I can get a bike ride in!

Oil Spill

Okay I have kept quiet long enough. As the days pass and BP gets no where with stopping the numerous amounts of oil spilling into the ocean...the more my heart aches and anger rises.

I often say...the beach is where my heart is (to be specific...St Augustine). Oil is reaching my states coast...my states beautiful beaches...killing wildlife and sea creatures in the Gulf. It breaks my heart.

It makes me even more angered reading the articles, day after day, of another failed attempt and reading what the CEO of BP says... Today: "The company wasn't fully prepared for the diaster." IDIOTS. ALL OF THEM. How could they not have been fully prepared for the possiblity of something like this happening? Seriously?

As I type this...BP is in the process of yet another attempt to stop the spill. So far so good... How I pray this works. I need you to pray that it does too...pray that they are able to cap the pipe. (Oh and don't get gas at BP.)

On another note... We had a crazy rain storm last night. I can't remember the last time I witnessed a hail storm. It was cherry sized hail! Scared the crap out of me! (not literally of course)

Don't forget my Summer Giveaway! You don't wanna miss out on some Clinique goodies!

ps- sorry there are no lovely pictures...weheartit is down and they claim it's for a good reason.

Secrets

It's Wednesday already?! My days are always so thrown off after a 3 day weekend...but I LOVE that!

I have some Summer skin secrets for you....but FIRST, have you entered yourself for my Summer Giveaway?! Make sure you check that out!

This morning I received an email from Clinique with a Summer skin secret! I figured since my giveaway is with Clinique products I will share this with you.

(via)

Many people are misinformed about their skin. That's what the Clinique Consultants job is...to inform you about your skin. Did you know that there are 4 skin types? Which are you? Are you using the right products for your skin type? Do you know about the 3-step? I am not here to sell you Clinique...there are other products you can use to please your skin and wallet, but I am a Clinique girl and always will be.

To have healthy, glowing skin it needs the 3 step process. You need to cleanse, exfoliate, and moisturize. Yes, even if you have oily skin you need it (use a moisturizing gel).

TIP: The secret to great Summer skin? The hotter it gets, the more you need to hydrate. Inside and out. When temperatures rise, drink lots of water - and be sure to hydrate your skin, too.

If you are interested in learning more about your type of skin or skin problems or an online skin consultation (though I suggest going to an actual person), click here.

Summer Giveaway!

I know it's not officially summer until June 21st...but I want to do a giveaway for all my lovely followers because you all are so amazing and make me smile!

In the summer time I barely wear any face makeup because I get way too tan to use my foundation. Don't you hate that?! I use my Clinique bronzer. I love bronzer!! I am more a fan of the powdered bronzer than liquid. Do you use bronzer? I have a tip for you!

TIP: Clinique's True Bronze Bronzing gel is amazing. Add a single drop to your liquid foundation, mix, and put on face...add more or less to come close to your lovely tanned skin!
*If you are still wanting to use your foundation (liquid or powder) just add bronzer powder on top.*

I use to work for Clinique...It was my absolute favorite job and still is. And I will forever be a Clinique girl. It might be expensive but their products are so good for your skin. If you ever have any questions about Clinique, feel free to ask me!

(Clinique Happy Days; Coworker and I with Mr and Mrs Clause!)
