The Love Boat

Back on Valentine's Day, my Husband had a surprise for me. I had just gotten to Chattanooga late the night before so I was pretty excited that the Hubby had made the plans and even better that it was a surprise! I honestly had no idea what to expect. He did good!

A romantic dinner cruise along the river!

It was so lovely! (besides the tight quarters) The food was great and the drinks were strong. They set the mood with some very sappy and romantic music. Think Marvin Gaye... oh yeah.  Later they had dancing. It was a fun 2 hours. We would've explored downtown afterward except we were exhausted and it was cold and rainy. We do plan to go back for one of their daytime cruises so that we can see the places along the river better.

Have you ever done a dinner cruise?

Lemon Blueberry Cake

This weekend I road tripped to NC to spend time with my SIL's and nephew for his 2nd birthday. His mother and I made him this Lemon Blueberry Cake from Sally's Baking Addiction. {Pinterest for the win!} It was AMAZING. Moist, not too lemon-y, and the frosting was light and fluffy. This is a must for those birthdays, parties, and/or events this Spring. Seriously, go pin it right now.

Besides some delicious cake, and eating lots of food that we probably shouldn't have... It was so great to have all the SIL's together. I love love love being back on the mainland for this reason alone. And to be able to cross state lines again. It has been quite some time since we last reunited. My heart is happy and thankful for wonderful family.

Oh and stripes were initially not planned but it was funny.

Fur-Mom Files

Picture after picking up my babies in FL after they flew in all the way from Hawaii!

Being a fur-mom of two, I'd like to believe I've become quite the master of all things dog related. I am always on the hunt for the best bargain and researching things all the time. Having two dogs is quite a bit more expensive than just one, something often overlooked when taking in another.  So I know everyone loves good finds and saving money! So each week I'll be here to share these finds with my fellow dog mommas!

When it was only Jax, I never had to deal with ear/yeast infections til we got Gemma. She has had a few now, and then even Jax had a couple. After much of my own research to narrow down what may be the cause of these and a change of diets (gluten/sugar free foods,) I think I've finally got a handle on it.

But because of these multiple ear infections, the bill added up quickly. While we were in between moves in NC they BOTH got ear infections and I refused to go to some random vet. I turned to the interwebs for some at-home rememdies. Apple cider vinegar, yogurt, etc were a no-go. So I scoured the web again to try and find products similar to what the vet prescribed us.

Alas, after researching and reading reviews on Amazon and 1800PetMeds, I found the solution!

Overall this is a fantastic product! I used this for about 5 days on my dogs ears and you can tell right away they felt relief. Ears were quickly healed of the infections. Amazon never lets me down! And for just $13 and FREE SHIPPING {if you're a Prime member} it's a steal. No more $100+ vet visits for this momma!

This should definitely be a staple in your house if your dog is prone to ear/yeast infections.

What are you favorite doggie finds lately?

Note- I am not a veterinarian. Use with discretion. Consult your vet before using this product if you have concerns.

Making a Comeback

Well, I went from a beautiful & warm Hawaiian life...

...to crazy cold weather with no beach in sight.

Change is good, though. I'm finally learning to embrace it.

We have finally settled in to our temporary home of Chattanooga, TN for the next 3-4 years. We finally have our car, our household goods, new furniture, new digs. Life is good.

I am so happy to be back on the Mainland, but there are so many things I miss about Hawaii. That lil island became my home. I learned to finally love it and I fell hard. It was made sweeter with the amazing friends that turned into family while I was there. Thus being the hardest to say good bye to. But such is military life. This was my very first PCS (permanent change of station). I am so thankful for a supportive husband. He constantly reminds me that each place we move will be different. There will be things we love, things we hate, and great friends along the way.

I am so thrilled to be back to blogging. I've truly missed it, though I did enjoy the hiatus! I know many of you have kept up with me via Instagram. I am on Twitter now, so be sure to find me (@michward4). Excited to get back into the swing of things!

xoxo.

ps- If you've ever lived in or visited Chattanooga, we are looking for your favorite things to do! Let us know!
