Friday Randoms

Friday Randomness!

*Two songs on serious repeat this week: A Little Bit Stronger by Sara Evans and Hollywood by Michael Buble.

*Confession: I am not a fan of Sprinkles cupcakes (gasp!) I know. My cupcake crazy self has tasted better! Sweet! By Good Golly Miss Holly is my favorite.

(red velvet, pumpkin, strawberry)

*Speaking of cupcakes... I made these for my coworkers today! Yum!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

*Check out my awesome SOA shirt! Got the hookup when I was in CA because Julia's hubby Matt works on their set! I feel pretty BA (badass...Love you Dane Cook) when I wear it, I won't lie. Wish I could get one specially made for the pup, since he was named after the character Jax.

*Hair tips! I went to see my stylist, Marissa from Box Office Hair, and she gave me some lovely information. All you thin/dry haired people listen up!!

-You do not want to use shampoo or conditioners with Panthenol in them because this will dry your hair out.
-Do you use Sea Salt spray? I was thinking of buying some, because I read somewhere it is great for volume...something my hair seriously lacks. You must know that Sea Salt spray is not for everyday use, as the salt seriously drys out your hair. It is more for a fun night out.
-If you are looking for everyday volume, use a volume thickening spray.
-Another tip...only put conditioner on the ends of your hair. That is probably old news to everyone, but its new to me.

*My Halloween costume is scheduled to arrive today!! SO EXCITED! Can't wait to share pictures! What are you dressing up as? I have always wanted to dress up at the Chiquita banana lady.

Have a fun and safe weekend!
If you have cold weather where you live, send some this way puhlease!

Final LA Recap!

Trip to Hollywood sign x2
Visited a Mansion that was turned into a local park (BEAUTIFUL)
Venice Beach (very interesting place)
Huntington Beach (where I fell in love with CA)
Touching/breathing in the West Coast beach for the first time ever
Dinner at Ruby's
Hunted for new TOMS
Night out in Hollywood
I may or may not have gotten a new tattoo

Celebrities I saw/met:

I had hoped I would see at least one celebrity... I got spoiled!

Saw this man, Omar Epps, at a stop light in his RollsRoyce. I may or may not have screamed. I am one of those starstruck kind of girls! And a huge fan of HOUSE.

Saturday night I was at a dive bar with Joaquin Phoenix!! (who is not a fan of having his picture taken or being noticed btw. It's cool, I still heart him.) Funny thing is Julia and I were next to him, like literally arm to arm with him at the bar and didn't even realize it til we left!

AND Nick Cannon was standing in line behind me at Burger King in the LAX airport. I got the nerve to politely ask him for a picture and mustered out something else but I don't even remember. He said of course, that he loves Sprinkles cupcakes too, and to have a safe flight. He was sooo nice!

Overall, a great trip. Definitely an expensive place to live. I would have to have a pretty "baller" job to live comfortably there. If I were to ever consider moving there it would be to Huntington Beach. I felt at home there, as I always tell people : my heart lies on the beach. Thanks again to my dear friends Julia & Matt for everything!

Day 18

30 Day Blog Challenge -

Day 18: Something You Regret

"Everything happens for a reason"

I can't say I regret anything. I wouldn't be who or where I am today if those things didn't happen. Sure, I wish I could skip over certain areas of my life when I look back on them now (the many heartbreaks, failures, my wild party days, the loss of 3 friends and not making sure they knew how much I loved them...etc)... But I wouldn't have learned the lessons that have strengthened the woman I am right now, in this moment. It's all a part of life and a part of God's plan. I am blessed for everything that I have and all that has happened.

LA Trip Recap 1

Without further adieu, here is the first recap from my trip to LA!

First: Thank you, again, to my sweet friend Julia for opening her home and for driving me around in that crazy LA traffic!

Left Thursday night. I had the best two flights on the way to Cali.
Nothing like a great start to a vacation!

The flight from Orlando to Dallas was packed (of course, flights these days are). I had the middle seat. It's always nerve wrecking to find out who you will sit by. The guy to my right kept to himself. While I had hoped to be able to get some rest, the guy next to me ended up being a super nice guy! We got started talking because The Office came on the airplane TV's. I saw him laugh to himself and so I took the opportunity to say how great this episode was. We got started talking about how much we love the show and also Modern Family. That led to talking about what he does, why he was in FL, what life is like in Oklahoma, and his wife. We actually sat there watching The Office in silence but laughing because we knew the episode so well. Hahah. Love it!

So on to my second flight, Dallas to LAX! The best flight by far! Again, I had the middle seat. Two gentlemen sat down beside me. Both obviously friends because they were talking. I got nervous wondering if this is how the entire flight is going to be. I needed to get some sleep so I could manage staying awake since LA is 3 hours behind FL (meaning it would be midnight my time when I arrived in LA, way past my normal bedtime). They started to casually talk to me and next thing I know they are offering me wine, which one can never turn down. Well our row (18) turned into a huge party. We got to talking and drinking! The flight attendants joined us, gave us a couple of free rounds of drinks and gave me food so I could drink more! Haha. It was AWESOME! I lost the tiredness, they even offered me a job (they are VP's of Behr paint) and said I am totally a Cali girl! Aw!!! I seriously will never forget you Joe and Phil!

They refused to let me wait alone while Julia came to pick me up... so they grabbed my luggage and waited with me. Gentlemen right? Again, LOVE it. Julia arrived and I said my goodbyes to "my bodyguards".

Julia and I then headed to Toi Thai! It was so good! My first time trying Thai food! YUM YUM YUM.

Afterwards we left to go meet her Husband, almost got hit by a crazy driver who decided to run a red light and show off how fast his car can go (who then proceeded to get pulled over! Score!), then headed home. I could barely keep my eyes open.

Friday was a busy day of playing tourist in Hollywood. But that's for tomorrow's recap!
Stay tuned!

Blog Challenge - Days 15 & 16

Day 15: Bible Verses

I am a lover of quotes and bible verses! I have many... but these are my top favorites!

"Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 37:4

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." 1 Corinthians 13

"Be still, and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10

"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." Proverbs 4:23

Day 16: Dream House

I really don't have a dream house. There are many I swoon over. You can make any house into your dream home. I seriously can't wait to decorate a house of my own someday! All I realllly want in a dream house is a realllly nice Master bedroom and bath! And a very nice kitchen! I would love for the house to be big enough to invite people over. I hope to be a hostess of parties and get togethers with friends when I am married, so a house accomodating to that would just be great! Def a pool and jacuzzi.

30 Day Blog Challenge -Day 9

Day 9: Pictures of friends

A couple of years ago I would have had many pictures to post on this prompt...but when moving back home I have come to realize who my true friends are... it's been tough on me as I greatly value friendships.

This is my bfness...Danielle. My life long best friend. We have been bffs since 2nd grade. We have been through so much together. She is an amazing mother. Love her!

This is Jenny. We are high school friends who lost touch for many years and we both moved back to our hometowns around the same time. We have both been there for each other, which means the world to me. She is such a great friend and she too is a great mother.

(have you begun to notice how different my hair is in most pictures? yeah....you see i have this problem of changing my hair every 2-3 months. i get bored with it!)

Each one of us are different but together we are a family. Love them.
And yes, the little brothers are not so little.

Me and my big sis, Jessica (the one I went to see in Ft Lauderdale). I love her. We have recently gotten really close. Being in a sorority...be it just a year... was one of the best decisions I made. I love my Kappa Delta sisters...esp my big!

Day 6: A picture of something that makes you happy

Clearly you can see that the Dr, Dr. Pepper that is, makes me happy.

Day 7: Favorite Movies

Pride & Prejudice
Grease
Grandma's Boy
Shawshank Redemption
ELF
The Polar Express
Twilight Saga
Harry Potter Movies
Serendipity

Day 8: A place you've traveled to

The end of July I went on my first cruise (aka 25th birthday present to myself!) to the Cayman Islands and Cozumel. So much fun!!!! I love traveling.

Miscellany Monday

So what a Monday it's ALREADY been.

If I talk to you today via Twitter and I don't make sense, please forgive me.
I am so out of it today. I wish I could have stayed in bed!
Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

Uno-
I have much catching up to do on the 30 Day Blog Challenge. I don't blog on the wknds and I forgot to blog Friday's post. Oh man... hopefully I will remember once I get home tonight.

Dos-
I leave for LA in 3 days!!! Excited is an understatement people.

Tres-
Spent 7 hours in the car driving on Saturday. Went 400+ miles to see my dear friend Jessica...my "big sis". Sooo happy to see her!! We both needed each other. I didn't get to see much of Ft. Lauderdale though because she has no idea where anything is...haha, but we did do some shopping and eating. Doesn't get any better than that! Oh and btw, people in Ft. Lauderdale are NOT nice. Just sayin'...

Quatro-
Do you like Apple Butter? Well Friday I made some Pumpkin Butter! IT IS SOOO GOOD! Here is the recipe I used. I forgot to get a picture of the finished product.

Cinco-
Went to my town's Art Festival. It was nothing special. Besides the beautiful weather, this picture was the only thing that excited me!

Love Halloween!

Seis-
A sweet reminder for your week:
Don't let yourself take hold of the lies Satan constantly whispers in our ears.
Remember all that God has given us, His children, His beloved...
grace; forgiveness; mercy; acceptance; strength; wisdom; redemption; an inheritance; a new heart; unconditional love.

Hope you had a great weekend! Have a great Monday friends!

Friday Randoms

HEYYYOOO! It's Friday!

Jax:
As you know, this cute little monster got neutered Monday. He is doing MUCH better. He is his normal energized crazy self. Some time yesterday, while I was at work, he got into my shoes and tore up my favorite sandals... I mean... I wish he could have chosen my rainbows or something...ugh! I know you dog owners are saying "welcome to the life of having a puppy"... yeah yeah yeah. Devastating. RIP shoes.

Kappa Delta love: I am going to Ft. Lauderdale tomorrow for the day to see my "big" sis! It's like a 2 hour drive but I don't care, just to see her will make me sooo happy! Oh and I would like to give a shot out to another sorority sister- Jessi Odell. She left a comment on my blog the other day and I have no way of replying to her so...just wanted to say I LOVE YOU! Thank you for your support! xoxo AOT!

My lovely followers: I truly appreciate all of your comments and love! I have recently found so many new and amazing blogs! I love this community!

October 15: Many of you might not know what today is. If it wasn't for a couple of blogs I would just look at today as another day. It's not. Today is the official day of remembrance of pregnancy and infancy loss. If you have miscarried or had a child pass away, today is a noted special day to remember them.

Transformers 3: Is filming locally at the Kennedy Space Center. Its pretty sweet! And yes...I LOVE the movie.

Giveaway Party: You must hop on over to YellowSongbird! There is some blogiversary giveaway craziness going on! Don't miss out! You have til Sunday to enter in all the giveaways!

Have a splendid weekend!

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 4

Day 4: Your Parents

I find it rather ironic that today is my parents 21st wedding anniversary and the topic today is about parents!

Not to brag or anything but my parents are the bees knees.

My parents have never stopped loving me...even through some of the roughest years of my life, through all the quarrels, lies, and my selfish ways... they have never stopped and they have always been there for me. I am so blessed to have parents who love me unconditionally.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Love you!

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 3

Day 3: Your First Love

I sit here and think back to all the boyfriends I have had...
(some I question why the heck I dated them)
All have left me heartbroken.

So who is my first love?

Jesus Christ. Abba. Father. Alpha and Omega. God.

(via)

His love is never ending. He will never leave my side nor will He ever leave me heartbroken. He is the only one who consumes all of me, and holds my heart in His gracious hands. I am always forgiven, even when I don't deserve it. And best of all...HE died on the cross for ME (and you)...

This is true love. He is my one true love. Forever and always.

*Listen to Brandon Heath's new song... Your Love*

30 Day Blog Challenge- Day 1 & 2

I have finally decided to do the 30 Day Blog Challenge! You can join in too over at Katie's blog!

Day 1: Introduce, recent picture, 15 interesting facts

I have a lot of new followers so I thought this a great opportunity! My name is Michelle and I am a daughter of Christ, a lover of love and cupcakes, the littlest things mean the most to me, I am amazed each day by the Grace and love of God, and I recently became a mother to the sweetest little fur baby ever.

1. If I were to ever escape anywhere it would be to the beach. There is some weird connection my heart has to having my toes in the sand listening to the sounds of crashing waves and the sun rays beaming down on me. It is my heaven on earth.
2. I am the oldest of 4 siblings.
3. I am a quarter Mexican!
4. Slightly addicted to chocolate, froyo, and Dr. Pepper.
5. I am a Kappa Delta. AOT.
6. I am very random. I do random things, I say random things, I buy random and spontaneously things.
7. I am a very picky eater.
8. I find pure enjoyment from cycling. It is my way of enjoying nature as I am not an outdoorsy kind of girl.
9. I have an extreme interest in learning to shoot a gun. I hope to own one someday.
10. I have never had to have my wisdom teeth out. I have only one. I will stay wise forever...muahaha.
11. When I get really excited I tend to jump or scream like a little girl.
12. I am a giver of gifts. It is my way of showing I care for you and/or love you. It's my "love language".
13. I love college football. I bleed scarlet and grey. Go Buckeyes!
14. My sister and I were adopted.
15. I haven't seen my natural hair color in about 8 or 9 years.

Day 2: Meaning Behind Your Blog Name

Michabella is a nickname I was given from my dear friend Amanda. I fell in love with it and chose to use it as my blog name. If my dream of owning a cupcake shop comes true, it will also be the name of my cupcakery. Living a Life of Love comes from the greatest fruit of the Spirit... LOVE. Every day I strive to live a life of love. We are nothing if we don't have love.

YOU are Amazing!

Has anyone told you that lately?

It’s about time you heard it again.
I hear you saying, “Who me?”
I’m saying right back, “Yep, you.”

You…
the one doing your thing,
making your difference,
being a glorious mess
that God can use.

You…
getting back up
when you fall down,
trying again
when it doesn’t work out,
doing the hard, the different, taking those steps of faith.

You…
wonderfully made just like you are,
and on your way to becoming all He made you to be.
I see you squirming in that chair, squinting a little at that screen and thinking,
“That’s for other women but I’m not so sure about me.”
Girl, believe it, receive it, it’s true.

This is for YOU.

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

Hey friends! Hope ya'll had a great weekend!
If you have today off...I envy you!
Happy Thanksgiving Day to my Canadian friends!

Join in and link up for Miscellany Monday!

{ONE} Jax and I had a sleepover at my friends with their pup Dexter. They had so much fun, possibly too much fun. I got little sleep. Jax is at the vet today. I literally felt pain when leaving him there. He is my little child. He was so happy...poor guy, little does he know he is about to be stripped of his manhood!

(Do you see how big Jax is? I love my lil bear)

{TWO} Saturday morning was the Ride for Breast Cancer Awareness. Just like running 5k's by yourself, going to a cycling event by yourself is so not fun. Felt awkward while waiting for the ride to begin. I did have the guts to ask a nice lady to take this picture for me.

There was a huge group of cyclists. I was pretty pumped to be able to ride in a big group as it is something I have never done before. But the event had poor planning and the group got split up by stop lights.

I was so worried about the stop light that I almost busted it, TWICE, because of not thinking to click out of my pedal. So embarassing. Then the group split up again when it came to the 10 mile and 25 mile paths. As much as I wanted to stay with the group, I wasn't prepared to do the 25 mile so I went, by myself, on the 10 mile path. I had no idea where I was going. I didn't understand that the markings for the path were actually spray painted on the cement. Thankfully I looked down and realized it. So yeah, I rode the entire way, on crazy busy roads, all by myself. I made it back to my car and left... disappointed.

{THREE} Saturday night my dear friend Jenny and I decided to take ourselves out for a nice dinner down on Idrive. The place we had planned to go was too busy, so we made our way to the best mexican restaurant ever...Don Pablos! Such a great decision! I had a couple Sangrias and Fajitas. YUM!

{FOUR} This weekend I am possibly going to Ft. Lauderdale to meet up with my sorority sister, aka my Big. I really hope the plans work out! I miss her so much! And I can't believe that the following weekend I will be in LA! Yahhhh!

{FIVE} I have my first blogger meet up Tuesday night with Sandy of Sandy a la Mode and Sonja!! So very excited!!!

{SIX} THE Ohio State Buckeyes moved up to number 1!!!

FRIDAY!

Oh happy day! I am so happy...for many reasons!

1. The obvious being that it is FRIDAY! This week felt so long!

2. Last night I had an amazingly fun time at my Spin Class. Last night was the first time going to a Thursday night Spin Class. The instructor was around my age and had the best music! She had some intense workouts too. I walked out with my shirt soaked in sweat. Yahhhh. I am feeling it a little today, but pain equals gain baby!

3. It should be a good weekend! Jax is having a sleepover tonight with a new friend, Dexter... (I am petsitting for my friends). I have my Ride for Breast Cancer Awareness tomorrow! Stoked bc it is Trek and I's first cycling event! Sunday I am hopefully going to see my godson Austin and his little sister, Kylee and their Momma! I have missed them a lot!

Austin kissing his little sister Kylee
Finally got a real road bike helmet. Love!

4. Two weeks from today I will be visiting the West Coast! Going Going...Back Back...to Cali Cali! Words can't express my excitement! Btw- My Dad is awesome. God has truly blessed me with amazing parents.

5. Fact: I love Johnny Depp. He is one of my favorite Actors. I absolutely love him in Cry Baby, but love him even more as Jack Sparrow! Did ya'll see he recently went to a school to suprise a little girl who wrote to Sparrow!? Too freaking cute!

Yes, that is really Johnny Depp.

What are you up to this weekend?
Whatever it may be I hope it's an enjoyable one!

Grown-Up Love

Stumbled upon this quote from Oprah today and I just had to share it...
(I am not a fan of hers, I just like the quote...gasp!)

“Grown-up love is not sought at any cost or pursued with a sense of desperation. Yes, a relationship requires work. Yes, it means sacrifice, Yes, it’s about compromise. But if it’s healthy, it should bring you joy not just some of the time but most of the time. And whether you’re twenty-five or forty-five, single or married, it should involve bringing all of who you are to the table–and walking away together with even more.”

I've been tagged!

Rachel from Extraordinary Love tagged me with these 8 questions:

1. What do you do for a living and is it your passion? If it's not, what would be your dream job?
I am a receptionist at a manufacturing company. It's reallllly exciting. Ha. Those who know me know that my DREAM JOB would be to have my own cupcakery! I have a passion for baking cupcakes! One day...

2. What kind of tradition does your family have at Christmas time?
On Christmas Eve we attend a service at our church. We have a nice breakfast on Christmas morning. My dad always reads from the bible before we open presents to remind us why we truly celebrate this day. Unfortunately we have no immediate family in Fl.

3. What is your favorite form of fitness and why do you like it?
Cycling!!! It is so refreshing! A great cardio work out. I have recently been doing more indoor cycling/spin classes to up the intensity.

4. If you're married, did you have a long or short engagement? If you're not, would you want a long or short engagement?
Not married, but I would def want a short engagement, like 3 or 4 months tops. I don't see the point in having a long engagement.

5. What is your favorite thing about blogging?
Being able to express myself through "internet journaling"; meeting new bloggers; finding inspiration/advice; all the lovely friends I have made!

6. What is your favorite way to worship? (Singing, praying, serving, reading?)
SINGING! I love music. This weekend I layed out on my parents diving board to soak up some Vitamin D and had my ipod tuned to my favorite worship songs. I love moments like those. I have spent a lot more time in worship lately, for obvious reasons, and it's been just amazing. Idk what I would do without music!

7. Does your name have special meaning?
Michelle? No. Anyone remember those little cards with the meaning of your name? Mine always said "Who is like God"... I wish I could claim to be like him! Always something worth striving for though.

8. Truthfully would you ever consider adopting a child? If so, would you pursue foster adoption, domestic or international?
Of course I would consider adopting a child. Honestly, I am not sure which I would pursue. I haven't thought that much into it at this point in my life.

----

I have also been tagged by the lovely Mrs. Hesson from I.M.T.L.Y.

1. What would your dream date consist of?
I love being suprised and I love someone who knows me and goes out of their way to make the date special. Taking me on a romantic date to the beach is probably my dream date. My heart loves the beach.

2. What's your favorite reality tv show?
Not a fan of reality TV. I loved MTV's The Hills til LC left.

3. How tall are you? How tall would you like to be?
I am short... 5'2. I always use to say 5'3, as if it sounded better? LOL.

4. If you were stranded on an island, what would be 2 things you wish you had with you?
The person I love, for I can't live without them and a Bible.
An endless supply of chocolate would be my next choice. Ha.

5. Do you look at the keyboard when you type?
No, I am the typing queen!

6. What's your favorite ice cream?
Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie...YUM!

7. Are you afraid of flying?
Nope! I really enjoy flying. I wish I traveled more!

8. Which restaurant has your favorite french fries?
Steak N' Shake!

Guest Post & A Huge Congrats!

Hey friends!

Check out my guest post at my sweet friend Chloe's blog today!

And a very huge congrats to my sister!!!

Back in June I posted about her graduation.

Well, she passed the NCLEX!

The Florida Department of Health sent her a confirmation of her license.

She is officially a Registered Nurse!

I am a very very very proud big sister.

Have a splendid day!
