Time for a change

I apologize for my absence of late.

I have been hiding. There is some real 'stuff' going on in my life right now.

The biggest being a problem I have with money. I am consumed by debt. Which sucks when it comes to my cupcake business, which I have had a lack of money and motivation lately. No bueno. I decided it needs to end here, while I am still young. Also because I have to move out by the end of the year. There is no way I am going to make it living paycheck to paycheck once I find a place for Jax and I. I signed up for Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. I hear so many great things about it.

Have you been through this class?

I would love to hear your thoughts and any encouragement is appreciated.

If you have money issues too, I really suggest you going through this as well.
Especially now while you are young.

Thanks to Pinterest, for giving me motivation and my sweet friend Pippa, for being there to listen.

i really hope everything gets worked out for you!
i have not done fpu but we did total money makeover and even though we didn't have any credit card debt or anything, just mortgage and student loans, it TOTALLY changed my perspective on money and how I spend it and really how I live. I bet it will do wonders for you and I'm praying you get the motivation and resources you need to get out of debt! And stay that way!! :)

Girl.... I just want to give you a big, big hug right now! I know exactly what you're going through. My husband and I went through the whole Dave Ramsey class at home (with all the dvds and workbooks), and we're trying to hard to get out of debt. It's super crippling, and can be very discouraging.... but we really look forward to the day where we don't feel like slave to our bills and debt any more. It's hard work, but I have faith it will be worth it to get out of debt!

Both of us borrowed money for college... and grew up with parents who weren't able to help us much financially, so we've taken that burden on as debt.... and it stinks. If you want to talk about it let me know!! Shoot me an email or something.

Love ya!! xoxo
You can do it!! (:

I haven't taken the class, but my parents have. And when I started college, Mama and Daddy wanted me to read the book. So I did. And it was wonderful! So I think the class will be a great thing! :)

My parents did FPU and they liked it. Dylan and I haven't done it, and the system isn't for us, but we are very strict with our budget. We both have student loans (which are AWFUL) but we would rather live a little more frugal now than have it be our whole lives. We don't live pay check to pay check, we have money left for emergencies, but we are working hard on reducing the debt that we have! Good luck to you!

Ive heard such good things about him and even did a project on his financial methods. I would highly recommend his "envelope" strategy (check it out). But good for you to step up and take control! You can do it and dont let it get in the way of baking cupcakes! If you love it then do it and its a way to make money too!

Im praying for you! I know how hard this is. I have gotten myself into trouble more times that I would like to admit with my stinking credit cards. I have a big one right now that I need to get paid off. Im doing that little by little. You are not alone!

If you need to talk or vent or chat about something totally different to get your mind off of it, let me know! Im here for, sweet sister :) I love you and you will make it through!

I took the FPU class several months ago, and I really wish I would have stuck with it. Everything he says makes perfect sense, and it really will help you. I am 24, and I'm not living paycheck to paycheck, but I have much more CC debt than any 24 year old should have! I think I am going to take the class again after the Holidays and really make it work this time...I've decided I have to grow up at some point! :) I wish you the best of luck with it!

We took the FPU class this winter and it really changed our way of thinking. ***Highly recommended***

We have student loans and old credit card debt, which we figured we would just pay on until we died ;) With focus, we now plan to be debt free in 4 to 5 years (there is a TON of student loan). BUT now we have a goal and we are aware that getting rid of debt can be done.

It's good for you that you are starting early. We wish we would have known about FPU in our 20's or even early 30's! Consider yourself blessed that you found it earlier in life.

You'll be debt free soon and loving the freedom it brings. Most importantly, you'll have the freedom to bless others - which I cannot wait to be in the position to do :)

I will be praying for you, as well as researching this class. Dave Ramsey is highly thought of at my church, and I need a money makeover, as well as not living paycheck to paycheck, and paying off all my debt! Proverbs 20:30 is my theme verse right now. SO MUCH, has happened as of late, but all I can do is give it to God! I'm so glad, you are not ashamed of Jesus. It makes me smile every time I read your blog! God bless you Michelle!

I'm sorry things aren't going well right now. But you have taken the first step and often that's the most important one. All the best to you!!!!!!

Michelle! I was reading your post and thinking I need to tell her about Dave...and then boom -you signed up for the class! SO proud of you! It will make great changes in spending habits but it requires motivation and it sounds like you got it!
My husband and I are still using his rules to help us get out of student loans and medical debt. We make progress each month and that is all we can hope for!
Best of luck my dear!

Michelle,
I did the total money makeover and learned ALOT! We are debt free except for our house and it feels amazing. I also bought the "money answers" book because sometimes the lingo can be overwhelming. the answer book has specific situational questions which helped me not feel like a small girl in a big world. I know you will be successful in changing your life!
Love ya!
