Friday's Fancies

I have been swooning over this olive and lace outfit I found on Pinterest this week.

Olive is one of my absolute favorite colors!

Fashion Friday

Hello my long lost gals! Sorry I’ve been on hiatus these past couple of weeks. As you know, I was in New York the week of Christmas… which, thanks to the blizzard, we were there for an extra FIVE days! Don’t get me wrong, I loved being there longer than expected but as my boyfriend said “The money tree doesn’t bloom in the snow.” Haha! We made it work though and it was a blast! Hope everyone had a great Christmas/New Years!!

While I was in the city, I noticed two things: half of the population wore next to nothing in the winter weather, the other half didn’t care what they looked like. I saw lots and lots of leggings. Sometimes, I was thinking that these girls were crazy since the temperature was about 30 degrees everyday. But I guess that’s the sacrifice to look cute ;)

I took a couple of photos of three outfits I wore while I was up there.
(covered up by a pea coat, of course)

Occasion: Lunch at The Breslin
Shirt: Target
Jeans: American Eagle (fit PERFECTLY by the way, I bought two pairs)
Boots: Steve Madden (These are the ones I was talking about in the last post)

Occasion: Christmas Eve dinner
Shirt: H&M (bought it in NY)
Leggings: Target
Boots: Forever 21
Necklace: Forever 21

This shirt is more flowy than it looks in this picture. I am in love with it!
I brought the necklace with me from home and it ended up matching perfectly.

Occasion: New Years Eve
Shirt: Forever 21
Necklace: Forever 21
Jeans: Wet Seal
Shoes: Charlotte Russe

Look at my adorable cat in the background. Haha!

Here are some other pictures I took while in NY:

Fashion Friday

ALL THINGS WARM!

I am heading off to NYC next week for Christmas and basically for the last 4 months I have been obsessing over what to bring. Since my boyfriend has strictly advised me to bring a carry-on instead of checking luggage (so we can get right into the city and not waste any time haha) I can’t bring as much as I’d like to. But I wanted to share with all of you my favorite winter accessories/apparel!

Fingerless Gloves
A MUST HAVE for those who have a touch screen cell phone. When I was in NY last year, it was snowing majority of the time and I had to remove my gloves before I could respond to a text message/take a picture. It was such an annoyance, I wish I found these then.

Flat Brown Boots
I bought these recently from Steve Madden and I am in love! They are completely comfortable and I can wear them with leggings, jeans, AND dresses!

Leg warmers
I specifically like wearing these with my leggings. You can pair different colors to coordinate with whatever color boots you are wearing. (ie: white with brown boots, grey with black boots)

Hat
You always need a warm hat (specifically one that covers your ears) when in the cold weather. Although they might not always be fashionable, they are essential. This one was only $3 from Forever 21!

A Rockin’ Jacket
A given.

I will be sending Michelle pictures from NY so she can post them for next week’s FF for me!

I hope you all have an amazing Christmas!!!

I’ve noticed lately that the wind has certainly gusted up a bit down here in Florida. With it being cold I would normally wear a hat but let’s face it, it’s still Florida. And I, my friends, am no sissy pants. So if you are like me and want to keep your hair contained but don’t want to have hat hair, go for the headband!

I am a big believer in headbands; I’ve always worn them and will stand by them forever! There are many different kinds of headbands:

The “hippie” headband:

The “greek-like” headband:

Headbands with accessories:

And of course, The “classic” headband:

I plan on picking up one of the “hippie” headbands this weekend! I will post pictures next week!

Have a great weekend everyone!
2 weeks until Christmas!

With the cooler weather upon us, I have been inspired to shop for some new leggings. But I’ve found that you can take the whole legging trend and do so much more with it!

Colored Tights

I love these (although I haven’t had the courage to wear them yet) and they are so cheap! You can find them in almost every store. Even Target has these beauties in tons of different colors and prints for only $5!

Speaking of…

Patterned Tights

Check these babies out!! The plaid ones are my favorite. Black is one of the most popular colors for holiday dresses, and what better way to make your legs look as trendy as the rest of you than putting on a pair of patterned tights. I was at a party last weekend and almost every girl was wearing a short dress with patterned tights and booties. I guess it sort of makes the shortness of the dress look classier ;) Either way, I think they are a beautiful and simple way to add to any outfit.

Last, but certainly not least...

Pleather (that’s right, pleather) Leggings

OH. EM. GEE.
Words can’t even describe how much I am obsessed with these. Which is a little odd being that I don’t actually own a pair haha. I imagine they are a little hard to get on and off, and probably get very warm when the weather isn’t in your favor, but it would be worth it to me. I never thought I would be raving about a piece of clothing as if I were imagining eating a delicious piece of food (I am a foodie too, so this totally makes sense)

I found these at American Apparel and I cannot wait to buy for my upcoming Christmas trip to NYC!

What are your favorite leg accessories?

Ciao!

Shoes… Shoes… SHOES!!

I absolutely LOVE shoes!!! Can’t get enough of them. But, I hate spending a lot of money on them. Call me cheap, but I believe that the most expensive brands wear and tear just as fast as the discounted brands do. I wasn’t sure what to write about this week until last night, I took a trip to SHOE LAND! If any of you know of a Shoe Land (or sometimes it’s called Shoe Town) I highly recommend you taking a visit ASAP! As I strolled through the 5 isles of pumps, sandals, wedges and boots I found so many that I’ve seen in recent celebrity sightings. Along with Shoe Land, these are some of the cheaper versions I’ve noticed:

These Christian Louboutin leopard booties Kim Kardashian is wearing retail for about $600. I found them at Charlotte Russe for $35.50.

Now these structured heels are all the rage in fashion. I’m sure you’ve seen them in every celebrity magazine retailing for about $300.

Here they are at Charlotte Russe for $32.50.

And seen on LuLus.com (in different colors!) for $27!

These Aldo shoes remind me of Lady GaGa (retail for $100):

LuLu’s has them for $44!

I also wanted to share with you MY amazing find at Shoe Land last night! I was so excited, I even called Michelle right after to tell her how much money I saved! Ha!

Lulu’s shoes for $31 (plus shipping).

I got them at SHOE LANDDDD for $20!!! SAME EXACT BRAND!

Here are some other websites to find shoes for the perfect occasion:

AmiClubWear
ShoeDazzle
Urban Original
Make Me Chic

I hope this week’s fashion topic has inspired you all to add to your shoe collection! After all, as women we can never have enough shoes ;)

Introducing...

Hello All!

My name is Heather, Michelle and I have been great friends for years now and I was thrilled when she asked me to do a guest blog on Fridays! One thing you should know about me is that I am no fashionista, but I do love clothes, jewelry and shoes! I am constantly on the Internet browsing the latest trends (good and bad) and I admit, doing a little online shopping during work hours. I also love a bargain! Some things I see on celebrities costing a fortune, and I end up finding them elsewhere for a fraction of the price (Don’t worry, I will definitely be posting my findings on here) Each week I will be blogging about a specific fashion trend. If any of you out there need help picking out an outfit for a special occasion or you found a shirt/dress that you are dying to have but are having a hard time finding it cheaper, I would gladly assist! Remember, just because something is in style, that doesn’t mean you have to wear it. But don’t be afraid to branch outside of your comfort zone. Grab a few different garments that you normally wouldn’t try on into the fitting room. You may be pleasantly surprised the look you put together! Alright, let’s get fashionizing!

Today we will be talking about one of my favorite things… chunky necklaces!

*On a side note: a lot of my pictures will be of Kim Kardashian.. I absolutely love her style!

If you guys only knew how much I am obsessed with these accessories. My boyfriend always teases that I have so many hanging on the wall that it’s only a matter of time before the wall comes down. My view, the chunkier the better!

I chose these two from Charlotte Russe mainly because I own them both. They are not only chunky, but bold as well. And the one on the left isn’t as heavy as it looks.

Target:

Target.com is a great place to get necklaces on sale that you can’t find in the store.

Forever 21:

If you want to go a fancier route… head on over to your nearest Express. (If you sign up for their newsletters, they send you email blasts with coupons like $30 off of a $75 purchase or $15 off of a $30 purchase **Online AND in stores)

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Head to your nearest mall and stock up on these chunky gems, they are amazing!
