Oh hey, remember me??

Ya, sorry for my unannounced hiatus!
(unless you follow me on IG then you know what I was up to) 

*The Hubs and I went on a two week vacation back to the East Coast. Boy was is wonderful and much needed. We spent some time in Florida and most of it in North Carolina. We celebrated our one year anniversary (can you freaking believe that?!) in the mountains at a quaint bed and breakfast. It was hard leaving NC. We love it there and are really hoping to make it back there when we finally settle down. Very excited to be back with all my boys, though a break from the furchildren was pretty darn nice. I'll post more about our trip/adventures throughout this week!

*As wonderful as the vacation was, the Hubs and I both gained some serious pounds. I've mentioned before that we were on the Yeast Free diet and doing so awesome with it. Then vacation came, and we really did try, but it's hard when you are not in your own home and are having to eat out all the time as you visit with people. More than half of the trip my stomach was upset and I was so bloated. It was horrible. On this aspect, I am very glad to be back home and back on a regular eating schedule!

*Over the vacation I came across this 10 day herbal cleanse by Advocare from Raven. I knew it would be perfect for when I got back! I'll be starting it today. Excited to try Advocare for the first time and see how well this does with cleansing my body. Have you tried Advocare and/or this cleanse before?? 

Off to nurse my headache. Time change and 10 hour flights are no fun.

Miscellany Monday

ALOHA! It's another Monday!


 *This week will mark ONE month since I have moved to Hawaii. Bittersweet feelings on that one. Luckily, I think I am handling this big life changer pretty decently. One day at a time...


*While my BIL/SIL were in town last weekend, we rescued a kitten that was I am guessing to be about 4-6 weeks old, which Hubby almost ran over. Took it home, soaked it in dial soap, killed probably a million fleas the poor thing was infested with, fed it, loved on it, played with it. We enjoyed it but I didn't want a cat and my sweet Jax doesn't get along too well with them. Yesterday, the kitten got a new home. It made my heart smile.

 *Hubby and I tried a new church today. Them Hawaiians know how to worship! Wow. I think we like it. I'm excited to get back into a church and hopefully can get connected with some awesome people! Time with God has been the last on my list lately. I need to change that!


*September 11 is Tuesday. Always such an eerie day as we all look back at where we were when we heard the news. May we take time to think and pray for the many families who lost loved ones in this horrific event.


*Hubby tried to kill me this week. JUST KIDDING. It was his night to make dinner. He excitedly said he had a great idea for dinner. Next thing I know he has MREs out! Ewwww! That stuff is just nasty!!! {FYI- MRE stands for Meals Ready to Eat for deployed soldiers} Oh, and don't worry. We ate a real dinner.

*College Football is rough over in Hawaii. The time difference sucks. Being the dedicated Ohio State fan that I am... Hubby and I were up at 5AM to head to a bar downtown to meet up with the Ohio State Alumni Club of Hawaii. IT WAS AWESOME! They dominated UCF, which it in Hubby and I's hometown and my brother goes to college there. My parents were actually at the game!! Lucky ducks. It was fun! Instead of beer I chose a more suitable approach for 6AM...mimosas!

Aloha, friends!

{no, im not in Hawaii yet}

*In six days i'll be 27... ughhhhhhhh. gross. I don't like odd numbers. and hubby won't be here. 

*Had a much need weekend full of sunbathing and beer. Seriously, I needed that vitamin d.

*I am officially Mrs SB. We've been married for a month!? It definitely hasn't been easy. We miss each other so much that is causes us to have petty little fights. We are figuring each other out and dealing with things all long distance. It's been hard but it makes us stronger. We can't wait for August! Love my hubby so so much. 

*I bought some goodies for myself (Happy Birthday to me). I'm hoping to show em off to y'all this week. Right now, dresses and workout clothes make me oh so happy.

*Something else to show off... my arms. They're starting to look so so good. Not to brag, but I've really been trying to get them toned. I'm doing James Wilson's workout program for those interested.

{one} so guess what? i'm a blonde... didn't expect to be one, but i just roll with whatever idea my hairdresser throws out there. and ya know what? im loving it.

{two} i saw the hunger games and wasn't all that impressed. they did great with the cast, but just so much is missing. if you haven't read the books, you really should. i mean, i didn't even cry?! im a big baby at the movies. what the heck?!

{three} today i feel like typing in all lowercase. 

{four} GO BUCKEYES! FINAL FOUR BABY!!!

{five} i took the facebook and twitter apps off my phone! gasp! it's weird, but nice.

{six} celebratory margaritas!

{five} i love sermons that truly speak to you, like the pastor/God is speaking directly to you and no one else. amazing i tell ya. part of the sermon was about friendships. a friend of over 15 years and i parted ways a while back...i went through a bad breakup at the time so I was a mess. i learned a lot since then but you see, i am somewhat awful at friendships, basically relationships in general. i expect so much because i give so much. im not the greatest at communication. okay fine, i am awful at it. but 'dating' soldier boy has taught me how key communication is especially in our situation. i've become a lot more open. i've realized there are so many different personalities and love languages. i've learned to forgive. that nobody's perfect. and that we should love our friends like christ loves us. i felt called to ask for forgiveness from the relationship i broke. i sent her a message and we both just kind of broke down. we both apologized. i mean really, we were both going through a very bad time in our lives. and ya know what... her and i are going to give this childhood friendship a try again. we've put it all out there on the plate of what we need, where we were wrong, and asked for each others forgiveness. God is so good.

Heyyyyooooooo!

Too much for Monday?? 

{yeah...sorry...ill take it down a notch}

1- Jax loves baths. I actually think he loves the aftermath of a bath. He goes haywire when it's drying time. Cracks me up! One of these days i'll record it.

2- I finally got some sun this weekend!!! Had a pool date with a bunch of my people. We boozed it up. Was so nice!!! I even got an inaugural burn. Hellloooo Spring!

3- Went to church from my bed on Sunday (Or as my dad calls it... Bedside Baptist). I isten online to either First Baptist Orlando or Andy Stanley's church, NorthPoint. NorthPoint's sermon was so good. This has not been off my mind since yesterday morning....

"You'll never know what God can do with what you have, until you bring it to Him."




4- The only thing that motivates me to get to the gym at 9AM on a Saturday... the fact that it will be dead and that it's legs day!

5- My new favorite snack?? A slice of 100% Whole Wheat Bread with 1tbsp of Peanut Butter and 1tsp of honey. I don't know who I have turned into!


6- Totally loving MyFitnessPal. Thank to all my twitter pals for suggesting that app to me! {It's a calorie counter, for those who don't know}

a. This lil blog is officially 2 years old! (Jan. 21)

Time flies I tell ya. 

b. Getting old is no fun. Currently trying to get an appt to see an orthopedic. My shins haven't been nice to me lately, which has put me out of running for the past couple of weeks. I refuse to go to the doctors office unless I HAVE to. I am sucking it up because I want to run again! I oddly miss it. 

c. Went to see Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan in concert last night. This is the second time I have seen Jason Aldean, third time I have seen Luke Bryan (my favorite!!) He puts on a fun show.

d. I love this boy. I've been in the process of cleaning and getting rid of A LOT of junk/clothes that I have collected over the years and reorganizing my room. I think I am finally happy with the outcome. Anyway, while cleaning I ended up finding my baby blanket, which he is cuddling with.....AND my Tiffany heart necklace... which I thought one of my roommates stole. I was a happy girl to find that beauty.

e. Why are reading glasses so dang expensive?? I wish I had better eye insurance.

Shenanigans

Oh hey friends. Remember me? 

Sorry for my absence of late. Been busy and have had one too many Christmas blues. Especially with the realization of not having a new job with more money and the fact that my student loan repayments begin next month. Ya... Happy freaking New Year to me. 

Enough of that.

My shenanigans lately:
