Breakfast?

Friends... I need your help!

Dilemma: I have to be at work at 8am. I value my sleep and therefore do not wake up extra early to eat, and also because I can't eat that early in the morning. I never know what to eat when I get to work. It's not like I can whip up some french toast, eggs, pancakes. If I can't find anything in the pantry at home I just won't eat breakfast. I have tried protein bars, yogurt and oatmeal. I enjoyed those for awhile. I would love to eat cereal but that's just too much. I need something quick and easy...and healthy.

Where you come in: What is your go-to breakfast meal? Anyone have healthy, but delicious, muffin recipes?

Thanks in advance!

i usually keep apple slices in the fridge at work, or pick up a jamba juice on the way to work. but i do have this same problem. :(

I know this may not sound quick and easy but it is, I promise. I bought this: http://www.amazon.com/Back-Basics-TEM500-Muffin-2-Slice/dp/B000B18P96/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1296507316&sr=8-1

It's saved me so much time and money. I just crack an egg in and toast a muffin and bam, I can eat it while running out the door.

I've been loving my smoothies lately! Frozen fruit, some vanilla yogurt and a splash of milk!

i bake blueberry muffins on sunday & either freeze them/pop em in the microwave or just keep them in a tupperware for the rest of the week.

my go-to breakfast is light & fit vanilla yogurt (i buy the huge one!), blueberries, and strawberries, and store bought granola (i buy the store brand at kroger/city market/king soopers). fast. healthy. SO good. if r blueberries are expensive that week, i buy frozen blueberries and leave them out while i shower.

I would be no help in this arena. I skip breakfast and pay for it later. But please post what you do eat so that way I can be better :)

for a lighter breakfast, I do the special K bars then about 3 hours later, i will eat another smaller meal =) But the special K bars are good for on-the-go!

my favorite is organic french vanilla yogurt with fruit (usually strawberries, blueberries or raspberries) and wheat germ. The wheat germ is super healthy but doesn't have a ton of over powering taste, it just tastes like finely grated granola. I also love carmel corn rice cakes with peanut butter on them. But my all time SPLURGE breakfast (that is still SUPER healthy) is: a whole wheat bagel with peanut butter, banana and granola with honey drizzled on top. I had this at a little bagel place in St. Augustine (not schmegals) and fell in lust.

breakfast is tough to get excited about but once you do you can't live without it... now if only I could do that with running :)

I LOVE an english muffin with a little bit of peanut butter on it (toasted) it's delicious, easy, and filling. Also, fiber one bars are good. Can't go wrong there.

I'm a big fan of yogurt with granola or a boiled egg. I tend to boil a couple of eggs the night before and I'm set for breakfast for the next few days. The only downside is they can leave a smell at work. I'm also a big of of cottage cheese and fruit or banana with peanut butter. All this breakfast talk makes me want to have it for dinner:)

I'm addicted to cinnamon rolls at night... and then I eat them for breakfast the next morning because they are like a drug to me.
You need something with lots of energy for all this triathlon business and hardworking girl that you are!

Fruit!! It makes me feel full! I grab a banana on the way to work and eat it as I drive. Then, I usually eat a little fruit cup once I get settled in at work!

I have the same problem.. This is what I eat in the am.. string cheese, kashi granola bars, greek yogurt, or fruit. It's pretty rare that I eat something different than that on a work day. Cute blog by the way. I'm a new follower!

We eat super high fiber cereal:-) Cereal doesn't long to scarf down, and has high protein, if you get the right kind! BUT I totally feel you on this, I can't wake up earlier in the am, I have to leave at 7:00 am tho, booo!

I am with you!! I always just make that instant oatmeal when I get to work!

I had to give up cereal ( to many carbs even my special K :(_ So I usually grab an orange, banana, yogurt, or Hidden valley bar. There aren't a whole lot of Healthy fast food options girlfriend! It's usually fruit or nothing! :(

I hear ya sister. I have no morning appetite and I'm usually whipping out the front door. I do Special K bars in the morning with a Hi-C juice box(Grabbin Grape is the best) and at 9am I eat a Banana or some kind of fruit. In the summer I do smoothies. Doesn't take that long--banana, vanilla yogurt, flax seed, soy protein, mix berries and a smidge of any kind of juice. Put my magic bullet to work and voila--it lasts me till lunch usually!

I'm a habitual oatmeal gal, with the occasional morning waffle.
Sometimes I'll splurge and go crazy by making a smoothie - just be sure to soak the cup in the sink so it doesn't get gunky!
Good luck!

I usually dont make time in the morning either for breakfast, especially during the work week. But if I'm really hungry, I like a ruby red grapefruit or an orange to get me through! I'm usually downing coffee as soon as I get to work tho… :)

I should probably add in some protein - like a nice whey protein shake! Now that actually sounds yummy. Chocolate is my fav! <3<3

I had to add my two cents and share my love for cinnamon raisin bagels. I have an addiction, I'm pretty sure, and they always brighten my morning! I think the thing is that you have to find that one thing you LOVE so much that you develop an attachment to it which makes you crave it every morning!

I love love love hard boiled eggs.
I make a bunch of them then pop them in the microwave when I'm actually ready to eat them.

You can eat just the white or the whole thing. An egg white has about 18 calories and A LOT of protein... according to Jackie Warner, there is something in an egg yolk that helps you burn fat through the day too.

I hate making breakfast in the morning. What I do is bake muffins on Sunday and freeze the majority of them. Then in the morning, I just pop one in the microwave for 20 seconds, grab a yoplait light yogurt and I'm out the door! I love the box muffins, they are just so easy to make. Right now I have high fiber banana muffins in my freezer! And they are delicious with strawberry yogurt!! Hope this helps :) xoxo

I am the same way...I have found that a cheese stick in the morning with an apple and coffee totally fills me up. I also love to eat cereal dry-I stick it in a baggie and snack on it in the car-you can easily measure the amount of it and know exactly how many calories you've had...a good rule of thumb is to match a carb with a protein-so if you're having the dried cereal maybe grab some cottage cheese and just eat like 4 or 5 bites of it real quick out of the carton before you leave and snack on the cereal. :) good luck!

Hah! I am the exact same way. I not a big breakfast person, and always eat something small. And I too don't want to wake up even earlier to eat at home/make something. I usually start to get hungry around 9. I am always alternating between Luna bars, yogurt with granola, and oatmeal at work :) I am just fine with it too, I suppose!

I'm not a big breakfast person either. Even the smell of it sometimes is enough to make me want to vom (lovely, right?). I always bring a granola bar of some sort, or I make a smoothie. I buy a ton of frozen fruit at Trader Joes (it's super cheap there) and mix in coconut milk or something of that sort and then pour it in a coffee mug. You can put it in the fridge once you get to work too and it will be good for a few hours so you don't have to drink it right away!

I usually make a smoothie with store-bought (no sugar added!) Kroger brand frozen fruit. The berry medley is very good. Then i just add about a cup of milk and blend. Voila! Breakfast on the go.

I make myself a protein shake each morning: skim milk & chocolate protein powder. It's like having chocolate milk for breakfast but much better for you! You can make it the night before and leave it in the fridge. Grab it on your way out the door and drink it once you get to your office! :)

I change up what I have for breakfast a bunch. Right now I'm on a big kick of a banana with almond butter! I buy the individual things of almond butter which are the perfect serving size. :)

I used to never eat breakfast in high school but now I have to eat or I will snack so much by lunch time. My go-to breakfast used to be oatmeal with some peanut butter and egg whites which really doesn't take that long to cook. But for something really quick you could get plain rice cakes and put peanut butter on them the night before. They also make whole wheat plain or blueberry Eggo waffles that are really good if you eat 2 of them with some fruit. Or the pre-cut apples in a bag with peanut butter or mixed with other fruit for a fruit salad type thing. I'll let you know if I think of more ideas..by the way if you can't tell I'm obsessed with peanut butter :)
