The Blue Plate - Chattanooga

Last week, Hubby and I had a mini Christmas photo session downtown. Unfortunately, that day was rainy and thirty degrees... We were freezing by the end of it! (Pictures turned out wonderful though) So we ran over to The Blue Plate. We have been wanting to try this place since we got here. Their brunch menu was amazing! I loved the modern atmosphere and that they support local farms and suppliers.

"Contemporary comfort food, fresh drinks and house desserts using homegrown ingredients from local farms, bakeries and ice cream shops."

As soon as I saw the french toast special, I was sold. It was delicious! Hubby had the breakfast burrito, which he thoroughly enjoyed. We, of course, huddled together over some magnificent warm coffee served in clear mugs.

This won't be the last time we visit because they also allow dogs to dine outside with you. Love.

ps- come back next week for photos from our mini session!

Turkey Leftovers

To be honest, I can't wait to stuff myself for Thanksgiving Day. I am blessed to be able to do so. I also can't wait for leftovers, but as we all know, it can get boring eating the same thing everyday. Except for pie. There is always room for pie.

Lucky for you, I've been scouring Pinterest for leftover ideas this week and here are my favorites:

YUM, RIGHT?!

WILW- Foodie Edition

The Hubs and I are on a mission to a healthier lifestyle. (we have some extra love needing to be shed) I've mentioned before that we are slowly transitioning ourselves into trying the Yeast Free Diet for 30 days. We visited Costco recently and stocked ourselves up with all kinds of healthy foods to prepare us; fresh fruit and veggies galore, coconut oil, almond butter, etc. There are currently NO chocolate or beer in our house. We are having serious signs of withdrawal. We have sparkling water to substitute our love for Dr. Pepper. Most days I wonder if this is really worth it! But then you look at what you are really putting into your bodies (sugar, ingredients you can't pronounce, etc) and it slaps you back to reality and wanting to cleanse your body of all that crap.

Yesterday I went a bit crazy in my kitchen and tried some new recipes. I've gotta have food ready and available for me or else I will eat the bad stuff! Plus, I always end up letting the fresh veggies and fruits go bad so I needed to use them. It's a win-win.

Here is what I am loving:

Pumpkin Almond Butter Cookies (a glass of almond milk is a must)

*I switched it up and made mine with turkey bacon, green peppers and carrots
