Staycation

I've had the pleasure of playing tour guide for my parents. It's been so fun but so exhausting. The Hubs and I even got to have a lil staycation. It was so lovely! I wish every weekend were like that!

A better plan

April 2012. I took a huge leap of Faith last year and hopped on a plane to meet/visit a special someone in Hawaii that I had grown very close to over the past 8 months. My best friend. I was scared but excited. Nervous but confident. Giddy but wanting to vomit {in a good way of course, ya?}. What I didn't know was that two months later we would be eloping on a beach, committing ourselves to forever.

Many of you might know of Mrs. Sarah Tucker. She is such an amazing woman. She posted this a couple days ago and it just hit home with me.

"Someone wrote me this morning about a broken heart. I have the biggest heart for anyone going through heart break. I had my heart broken into pieces when I was 21. And if I got what I wanted at 21, I would be miserable today. Heart break hurts worse than open heart surgery. And I know both. But had I not have gone through that I wouldn't have such a full heart today. And if anything I went through it to tell this girl that Gods plan is better. Pray for your future husband and I promise God will knock it out of the park." -Sarah Tucker

I went through a lot before meeting my husband, more than I think most women go through. But, if I hadn't... I wouldn't have been the woman I am today, the woman my husband needed/needs me to be. I'd be miserable.

My parents are in town! I am so excited for them to visit this island I've come to grow fond of. I get to be their tour guide/chauffeur. Excuse me while I take a break on here to enjoy our time together. 

Oh and I just found out my very dear friends are having a little girl!!!! I need awesome baby gift ideas! Comment away with your favorite baby items and shops, etc. Thanks!!

My heart is so full. Love my boys so much. I can't imagine what it's going to be like to have human children. Pretty sure my heart will explode. Oh but don't worry, that won't be for awhile.

WILW- Foodie Edition

The Hubs and I are on a mission to a healthier lifestyle. (we have some extra love needing to be shed) I've mentioned before that we are slowly transitioning ourselves into trying the Yeast Free Diet for 30 days. We visited Costco recently and stocked ourselves up with all kinds of healthy foods to prepare us; fresh fruit and veggies galore, coconut oil, almond butter, etc. There are currently NO chocolate or beer in our house. We are having serious signs of withdrawal. We have sparkling water to substitute our love for Dr. Pepper. Most days I wonder if this is really worth it! But then you look at what you are really putting into your bodies (sugar, ingredients you can't pronounce, etc) and it slaps you back to reality and wanting to cleanse your body of all that crap.

Yesterday I went a bit crazy in my kitchen and tried some new recipes. I've gotta have food ready and available for me or else I will eat the bad stuff! Plus, I always end up letting the fresh veggies and fruits go bad so I needed to use them. It's a win-win.

Here is what I am loving:

Product of the Week - Lipstick

LIPS!

I decided to give lipstick a try last week. I am absolutely not a lipstick girl. Love me some Burt's Bees chapstick okay?! I don't think, prior to last week, that I have ever bought lipstick. I see lipsticks posts all the time on blogs and pinterest. Aubrey's post may or may not have prompted me.

I like my makeup pretty natural looking so I wanted to try the nude/light pink shades that are perfect for spring. Oh my goodness, what an overwhelming event. I am pretty sure I spent 30-45 minutes in the makeup isle. So many beautiful colors, too many decisions. But alas, I fell hard for one...

I honestly think any skin type could pull off this color. It's beautiful! Go get yourself one and give it a try! It's only $5 :)  It's a matte color so if you wanted shine just add some lip gloss. I did grab a few other colors, because I have problems making decisions, so I am going to give those a try to too!

Shenanigans

Saturday the Hubs and I went to the Scottish Festival in Waikiki. It was pretty cool! I found out I am more Scottish than I thought! Since we were down there we decided to make the most of being in Waikiki so we got some drinks and walked around town. It was such a great day! Since it's rare that I get the weekends off, it's nice to make the most of them.

Electric Beach. One of our favorite local beaches. I am on a mission to capture as many sunsets as possible. I take living this close to the beach for granted so I want to soak it up! I will miss this the most when we move.
